Although I am now exclusively involved in education research, it is my basic science research training that has defined me as a scientist and as a science educator. I miss the bench dearly but I found that a single person cannot be both a leading investigator as well as a successful educator as these are each full time jobs. As described in my biography I made a career decision to become a full time science educator and to dedicate all my energy to disseminating science. Nevertheless, I continuously keep updated on the latest techniques and discoveries as I read the scientific literature on a regular basis. This is not only essential for the active researcher, but for the educator as well since the only way to teach relevant science is to keep up with the field.

The following is a list of my scientific publications. Although the titles are technical and hard to understand, they will give you a sense for what I have worked on. My biography contains a very short description of this work, but of course if any student has questions or would like more details, they are welcome to chat with me after class or during office hours. I always like to chat about research! If the publisher has made the paper publicly available I have included a link to download it for your convenience.
