If you would like to know more about how birds sense the world, then this is the book for you. Candidly written and beautifully (albeit scarcely) illustrated, you will be given a brief but wonderful tour through the world of bird senses, some of which are quite unique indeed. The author draws from his long experience as an ethologist and ornithologist to tell his story, which he does straightforwardly by partitioning the book into seven senses. Want to know what those seven senses could be? Then you will have to read this book. If you are still not intrigued, then I will leave you with the following: Did you know that many birds have two foveae? Or that some birds can echolocate? Or that at least one bird is known to have orgasms? If you did not know this, and want to learn, I would urge you to find this book and delve right in.
